Chinese Oak contains a natural tannic acid which protects it from fungi and insects. Before manufacture, it is kiln dried to less the 1% moisture to prevent warping and cupping. Overall it is about 5% harder than Red Oak and more durable. Our Chinese Oak furniture comes stained with a light oil for weatherproofing and uniform appearance. Fully assembled items may require unfolding.
